Can post classroom information such as teaching philosophy, classroom management practices, schedule or assignments
Benefit:   Posted information is at student's fingertips
                Post the information once, Don't have to make copies
                Students can access the information anywhere, anytime
                Promotes collaboration between teachers
Post student work for Student Recognition
Benefit: Students will create higher quality work
Post PowerPoint tutorials, handouts, links to educational sites and resources
Benefit:   Promotes technology integration
                Promotes collaboration and information sharing
                Information is posted only once, easily access by students and teachers

Web Page Creation Policies back

Obtain parent's permission prior to posting student pictures and information.
Check with campus office for parent signatures
No commercial advertising
Do not include complete student personal information such as first and last name, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
Include information relative to school activities only. Do not relate personal or political opinions, affiliations, etc.
Do not post pictures, graphics, presentations or movies that depicts political or religious affiliations, or derogatory material
All links to other sites will be educational in nature. Do not link to student or personal web pages.

Web Page Design Tips back

Keep the background, fonts, bullets and colors consistent
Don't overdue graphics, animations or text
Should be easy to read, easy to navigate and quick to download
Check all links to make sure that they work, check spelling, keep information updated
Incorporate navigational support (Home, Back, etc.) and date last updated as needed

Common Practices back

Save, Copy or Store pictures, animations, etc in the same location, T: drive
Insert pictures directly from the folder where pictures are saved in
Create web pages first before creating links
Test web page thoroughly

Creating a Classroom Web Page back

A template in Microsoft Word has already been created for you
The T: drive is mapped directly to each teacher's web page
Getting Started... Open Microsoft Word, Click on File, Open, Choose the T: drive next to Look In...
Look for and Open the file: index.html. If you don't see the file: index.html, change Files of Type at the bottom to All files (*.*)
Make changes and Save. Saves directly to the web server. Changes can be previewed immediately.
You can only make changes while at school, however, you can copy the files, modify them and copy them back to the T: drive, replacing all the contents.

Creating Links in your Web Page back

You can create links to files, web pages, email addresses or bookmarks
Place cursor at location where you want the link to be created
Type a descriptive text for your link first
Highlight the descriptive text just entered
Click on the Hyperlink button. (Arrow below is pointing to Hyperlink icon)

Click on the type of link (enter web address, email address, etc., depending on link type)
Click on OK

Inserting Graphics back

Copy, move or save picture into T: drive first
On the menu bar, Click on Insert, Picture, then From File
Change directory to the T: drive and highlight the picture
Click on the Insert button on the bottom right
If needed, Resize picture by clicking on the picture once to see the black handles appear around the picture
Resize pictures by clicking a corner handle and dragging the mouse into the center of the picture until ideal size
