Fort Hancock is rural farming community located about 50 miles east of El Paso, Texas. Fort Hancock is small, but what it offers the community is no small deal. Some of the best things about Fort Hancock is the clean air, there are no traffic jams, there's a picturesque view of the mountains in Mexico, and the view of the stars and Southwest sunsets are unforgettable. The atmosphere in Fort Hancock is friendly. You will always be waved at while driving through the town.

There are two restaurants in Fort Hancock, Angie's Restaurant and The Fort Pizzeria, two gas stations, and a community center with a swimming pool. The Border Patrol has offices in Fort Hancock as does the Texas Department of Transportation.

Fort Hancock has three school campuses, a library that serves both Fort Hancock Middle and High School campuses, a library at the elementary school, a technology center equipped with two distance learning classrooms, a gymnasium, and football and baseball fields and tennis courts.

Benito Martinez Elementary campus educates grades PreK - 4 with approximately 174 students. Fort Hancock Middle School educates grades 5 - 8 with approximately 168 students.  Fort Hancock High School educates grades 9 - 12 with approximately 122 students. Students participate in numerous academic and athletic activities.
State Champ
In the 6 years from 1986 - 1992, Fort Hancock won an astounding 5 state championships in Six-Man football and set a state record for consecutive wins, which was also the second longest in the nation (70 straight wins).

What a great victory for the High School athletic program that continues to excel today!
